What's the process?
These pieces can be created by one or multiple photographs. The pictures do not need to be high quality or taken by a professional photographer. They just need to mean something to you.

With one photograph the process is pretty simple:

30 minute interview to discuss aesthetic of the final artwork and the story behind the picture

With multiple photographs:

One hour interview to discuss story behind the photographs what makes them special and what memories you want to embed into the final artwork. We also talk about aesthetics and general ideas/themes behind the final piece with some fun "art games"

One hour interview to view and share the actual photographs

Then I go away to work

One hour reveal and presentation of artwork

LOVERS TRAIL - Wedding anniversary gift
This artwork was commissioned by a Victoria couple celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary. Every single graphic element seen on the painting was sampled from the original photos taken in 2001
Shadows of ourselves - Vacation memories
Like everybody else when I go on vacation I take a lot of photos and they usually just sit in an album in my phone. We rarely print them and if we do it's just one photo, which doesn't really tell the story of the whole trip. I created this piece by sampling a number of photographs from our last vacation, which captured different memories from our trip
Quick Little Reset - Wedding anniversary gift
Commissioned by a husband as a surprise anniversary gift. This painting was generated from a single photo of the couple sitting on a dock on their favourite lake
Framed for life - Wedding anniversary gift
This painting was created by combining a number of photos taken during a photo shoot. When I asked the couple if they had printed any of the photos from their photo shoot they said no with a smile. Our relationship to photos has changed in many ways. This painting now hangs in their living room
Motorcycle adventures - Wedding anniversary gift
This couple commissioned a painting from a single photo taken during their trip abroad. They took a private motorcycle tour and had many memories from the tour, but the tour guide was the one taking all of their photos and while signification they felt they didn't have one that they could frame so they asked me to "do something" with this one image
